The folder for each instrument contains five different charts: fingering, scales, note value and grand staff & keyboard.
The fingering charts are not just for reference. Each one is designed so that students can use them as aids for practicing chormatic scale patterns and for extending their range. With easy to read graphics organized vertically from low to high notes, there is no unnecessary clutter.
The notation charts cover the practical range of each instrument arranged in alphabetical order rather than using memory tricks.
The major scale charts illustrate all the major scales in vertical columns arranged in fifths with the C scale in the middle. Scales should be used for practicing but are also useful for theoretical applications.
The time value charts clearly display the relative values of notes.
The keyboard and grand staff shows a 3 octave keyboard starting on A with the note names printed on the keyboard and the staff directly above. Students who understand the keyboard and notation system are thus more able to understand other aspects of the music program.
