About Us
Mayfair Music began in 1979 as the distribution arm of Music Box Dancer Publications and for the first few years was mostly involved with recordings and pop music books. Several well known Canadian artists' songbooks were published by us including: Rita McNeil, Murray Mclachlan, Bruce Cockburn, Frank Mills and Fred Penner. Later we published many classical piano works and educational editions.
In 2002 Mayfair Music became the publishers of the Leila Fletcher Piano Course. This wonderful course allowed us to foray fully into the business of music education. The Leila Fletcher Piano Course is used by many educators around the world including Brazil, China and Japan.
In the early 1990's we purchased our first printing press allowing us to start a production department. We began offering our custom printed manuscript products. From 12 & 10 Stave Manuscript Pads to 24 & 48 Page Dictation Books. This service allowed our music dealers to have something of their own to sell. Selling a product with there store information imprinted on it is the best way to advertise their business. This service has grown to over 150 main stream music stores taking part allowing us to print in excess of 250,000 manuscript pads and half a million dictation and staff books each year. With the aquisition of our Konica Minolta Digital presses we are now able to print most of our music books right here at our facility. It also allows us to expand our Custom printing to our customers. Imagine having your own Theory Course or Repertoire books. This can be done through our production department.
So please have a look through our new revised and wonderful website. We are proud of our products and hope that you will continue to support us and Canadian Music.
Cheers,
